Hello World,
The 4th of July went well here in Lake Placid. We had some amazing pizza and watched fireworks. Then the next day we relaxed and did a low-key paddle around the lake. Today, I raced in the LP--Lake Placid International. My K-4 made 4th in the A final. However,I didn't make it into the K-2 or K-1 final in the 1000 meters. Tomorrow, should be a bit better because we're doing 200 meter races.
Tip of the Day: Pack extra food because you get very hungry after a long day
of racing.

Graham

Hello World,
Well I apologize for being late on a post. I will be better about it in the future. Anyways!I've been training at the Lake Placid Olympic Training Center. I've been in team boats and tapering my speed, so I will be my fastest. Before we left for Canada, it had been raining and cold in Lake Placid. Guess what? The day we left it's warm and sunny.
Tip of the day: Prepare for any weather. If you have a big rain jacket like me, then you will be having some balance issues in the wind. Also remember to check all the pockets when you pack for another country that way you won't think you've forgotten your iPod/phone.

Graham

By the time you read this, I will be in Lake Placid, where I'll be paddling on Mirror Lake( I hope no alligators eat me).I'll be staying and training at the Olympic Training Center. Later on this week, I'll be traveling to Canada to race. Can't wait. It's my first trip to Canada. Wish me luck!
Tip of the day: Don’t take too much time away from training, or else you’ll be pretty sore when you get back, and you'll have to apply Tiger Balm. My cat loves the smell of Tiger Balm.

Hello,
My name is Graham Roper. I'm a sprint kayaker, and I'm a geek who loves video games.
On Sunday, I leave for Lake Placid as part of the 2012 Junior National Team. Until then, I've been training at Lanier Canoe and Kayak Club.
Today, my training(so far) has included a triathlon where we substitute kayaking for cycling followed by my coach’s fairly intense workout set.
This afternoon will be a um… surprise… Not sure what, but I’ll see how it goes.
Tip of the day: Wash out your new Camelbak. If you don't, the water tastes like burnt plastic and rubber. I don't know how I know that, but trust me, it's not good.
